NNRetime is an advanced retime plugin for Foundryโs Nuke that uses a state-of-the-art machine learning model to speed up or slow down footage by synthesising in-between frames. Compared with existing optical-flow-based tools, it produces cleaner output with noticeably fewer artifacts. It handles high dynamic range values correctly and scales to 8K and beyond โ staying memory-efficient even at large resolutions thanks to tiling support.
The comparisons below show NNRetime alongside a traditional optical-flow approach on the same footage:
Features
2K on 8 GB VRAM
4K on 16 GB VRAM
8K and beyond via tiling
GPU-accelerated
Proper handling of high dynamic range values
Overscan and animated bounding-box support
Custom layer support, including AOVs and light groups
Runs on Linux (Nuke 13.1+), Windows (Nuke 14.1+), and macOS (Nuke 15.1+)
Nuke Indie support
Fully sandboxed and production-friendly โ runs offline, no internet connection required
